65th GEA Search and Rescue Drill, which includes theory-based and practical trainings for preparedness for disasters, was performed in Istanbul and Izmit.

Theory based trainings took place in GEA Coordination Center with the participants of 105 international and national team members from Istanbul, Ankara , Bursa, Eskisehir, Bursa, Izmit and Van.

During the drill which took 4 days, theory-based and practical training were performed in several areas such as: volunteering, team work, logistics, medical, searching, search and rescue dogs, triage of buildings,  marking, supporting systems for debris, first aid for the disaster victims and rope rescue with stretcher.

During the last 36 hours of the drill, practical trainings were performed in the debrises at Istanbul and Izmit.
